I turned on my bathroom faucet yesterday, no there was no water running, not even dripping at all. I have no idea what happened. I didn’t do anything, and all the other faucets in the house work perfectly. I wonder what might have caused the problem?
The water supply is not shut off

BY any chance, has someone turned off the shut-off valve under the sink? Is it the cold water side or the hot water side or both? Has the pressure been reducing over time? One thing you can try is taking the filter/aerator off and cleaning. (That’s the end of the spigot. Unscrew, clean debris from filter – not into the sink, use garbage pail)
Maybe somebody else turned it off underneath. Check the valves underneath.
If that’s not it then check the screen. I doubt ut but maybe it’s plugged
Either the tap spindle has corroded & fused together, or the tap washer has wedged itself into the tap seat. If you haven’t used this tap for a long while it could be either. You need to turn the tap off at the mains & then take off the handle. Depending on whether it comes out of the wall or the basin wil determine what tools you will need to disassemble it.
Recently there has come on the market a flexible connection hose called a flood safe, These are designed to prevent the water from flooding an ara if the faucet fails. The hose worked in my place about 1 year, then failed in the "shut it off" mode. The unit then must be disconnected from the supply valve and then reconnected. The real problem occurs when it fails the second time, then the third time each time was less time of operation. Check with the maintenance dept if you are renting. Buy a different connection hose if it is yours.
